Northern Nigeria

The Northern Region of Nigeria has high, flat plains. Lake Chad, which was an important water source in this region, is shrinking, and the harmattan is covering everything in sand. The two largest ethnic groups in this region are the Hausa and the Fulani. They have been combined partly, but the Hausa live in more urban areas and the Fulani live in more rural areas. In the city, most houses that people build are made with flat roofs, and in the country, there are rounded mud houses. Many people farm and herd.
